The Giant FTW FAQ Thread!
Hello, this is your head-admin, ZERO GRAVITY and I am pleased to announce that, while the site is still working under some minor construction, we have available to prospective members an FAQ for them to ask the staff any questions that are not explained in other portions of the site. ^^ Please feel free to ask anything pretaining to the FTW universe or general site issues, and the staff will be more than happy to answer your questions!

Hello. I have two quick questions for you:
1. Could you please tell us more about the Oni?
2. Does the region from which your character is from determine their stats and personality type? Or can they exhibit other things from other places but be from other regions?

^^ Hello Razkir!
1. More detailed information about the Oni can be found at this thread here. (Keep checking it out for more new updates!)
For your convenience, though, here is some basic information about the Oni:
Oni are creatures that were wrought from human hands to be used as the perfect war-time weapon hundreds of years ago. However, because the Oni were not the most reliable creatures, and began to not only destroy their enemies, but also devestated the land and civilians, they were suppossedly "sealed" away so that they could not return again. The Oni roam on the land again, however their numbers are not nearly large enough to cause wide-scale damage -- the people must take great care to keep the Oni "under control", and so, they emply Oni hunters to terminate Oni during their most active time: night.
Oni have one instinct: to kill. They are not intelligent, sentient beings, but they are clever enough to distinguish places where there are a lot of things to kill; if there is nothing that they can murder they slink along, or lie dormant until the next night.
Oni have two forms: a "shadow" form that they use to blend into the darkness, and a "solid" form that they assume once provoked into a rage. It is, usually, much easier to kill an Oni in its "solid" state than in its "shadow" state. Oni are pitch black and also seem to have emblems carved into their "skin"...
While Oni are active terrors in the night, the moment that the sun begins to rise over the horizon the Oni disappear, and if they do not slink away fast enough, the sun's rays will strike through, and kill them.
Oni are weak against steel and iron-based weapons. Also, since Oni were created by magic, they have built a resistence to most weak magical attacks. However, there are cases where a certain element can overcome an Oni's "resistence"; Oni are based upon elements, so using the opposite element would -- obviously -- overcome their innate magical resistence.
Oni do not discriminate their targets; sometimes they even attack each other. Thus, Oni are a threat to human, Avatar, Bestial Sovereign, and the environment alike.
Also
While Oni hunters are charged with the sole purpose to patrol the territories at night and to terminate any Oni that they come across, the common man is not without protection. If a person is brave, and does not fall into despair once they see an Oni -- they can overcome an attack and survive.
As for your second question...
2. I'll be honest with you, the answer to this question is both yes and no.
The region where your character is from may influence their stats and personality. For instance, a Cockcrow citizen may be more inclined to have water as their element because they live closest to the sea, whereas a Murkcat citizen may be more inclined to have earth as their element since they are located closer to the forest. However, that does not mean there cannot be exceptions to the "rules"; for instance if a person had a mother from the Cockcrows and a father from the Murkcats, the child may have his father's element, etc.
Really, it's up to you as the roleplayer to decide, however, there is one provision I would like to ask that you consider:
If your character is coming straight from the countries of Gewalt or Ken'Iki Ja, please read about these countries and their culture in the Antiquity of Eternity section (Which will be up, soon!). ^^ This may influence how your character reacts and interacts with the other characters, and the staff and I would appreciate accuracy! Again, though, there can be exceptions to the "rules", you may have a character who is more accepting to the culture and lifestyle of New Vale than their countrymen -- but, really, it's still all up to you ^^
I hope these answer your questions, and the staff and I would love to see you join us!
